I love the Happy Gilmore analysis! I totally forgot that it was premiering last weekend when my Mom who was visiting suggested that we check it out. Seemed like an innocent trip down memory lane for a woman who had plenty of recollection of my well-worn VHS copy as a kid. No spoilers here but Mom was mortified by the first five minutes. We hung on past the Kelce cameo but both agreed that it was not worth completing. It's a real shame that Sandler couldn't figure out a better premise for the sequel. I've really enjoyed some of his most recent straight-to-Netflix offerings. If this Mother-Son pair who was so invested in the original couldn't make it til the end, it was probably also doomed for plenty of other viewers too.

Yeah, my wife quit watching before the end too. And she's the one who suggested we watch it, not me!
